This was the first time I've ever celebrated Buddha's birthday. It was also the first time I was aware of such a holiday. It's really big here. About two weeks beforehand, the entire city hung colorful lanterns all along the river.

Children's Day is an official Korean holiday. I thought this was a random holiday. This year it happened to land on a thurs so my friends and I decided to make some boxed lunches and head to the river for a picnic. We met in my apt and got busy preparing our lunch. Then headed to the river and ate everything.
