Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Japan

I've been wanting to go to the Ghibli Museum for a long time and since I've finally made it to Japan, I had to go. You have to make reservations ahead of time to go to the museum. I had to "order" my reservation online. It cost 1000Yen which is about $8.50ish. Mitaka is in the outskirs of Tokyo and I still wasn't used to the crazy metro/train lines of Japan so naturally I got lost and turned around once when I had to transfer. I eventually made it on the one day that it didn't rain.

Sherlock Holmes and Dr Who

Everyone knows who Sherlock Holmes is, Robert Downy Jr played him in 2 movies. But Benedict Cumberbatch does an amazing job playing him. Seriously, watch that series. It's called Sherlock and each episode is an hour and a half, each season is only 3 episodes. Easy enough right? It's like watching 3 movies all about Sherlock.

The British Museum

Majority of the museums in London are FREE. Awesome right? Just don't be too surprised at how many people will also be there with you. I personally like going to museums alone only bc I can go at my own pace. Sometimes I like reading the bits of info that's attached to a painting or sculpture. Other times I just look at something and keep walking.

Canterbury, England

Friday: I almost missed my bus. I made it with a minute to spare. I blame Carl. He shouldn't let a person with a guide book of his country decide on what time to leave. Basically there was a lot of running between metro transfers and to the Victoria Coach Station. I was supposed to be there 10mins beforehand as the bus driver so nicely told me when I was getting on. Sorry Carl, next time, don't listen to tourists!

Icheon Pottery

Having friends all over Korea makes for great weekend visits. I met Kayc when he was living in Cheongju, now he lives in Icheon (very close to Seoul) and they are known for clay making. Kayc told Christina and I about this pottery place and so we (Christina and I) decided to visit him one weekend and make some pottery.

Hoa Lo Prison Museum (Hanoi Hilton)

I wish I had taken more photos of this place. Half of the museum was very depressing and the other half wasn't as bad. The original prison was huge but its been reduced to a small percentage due to the bombings from the fighting.

Tay Ho (West Lake)

Taxi-ed to the city's largest lake. Our taxi driver was flirting non-stop to someone on the phone. Awkward. This lake is also known as Lake of Mist and Big Lake. There are 2 legends about the lake. Legend 1: The lake was created when the Dragon King drowned an evil 9-tailed fox in the forest. Asia loves their 9-tailed fox stories.

Ho Chi Minh Complex

HCM Mausoleum: The iconic building that I'm sure you've seen. It houses remains of Ho Chi Minh. After checking in my camera at a checkpoint, lined up with a bunch of elementary kids on a school trip (kept staring at us b/c we were speaking English, not different from Korea after all. lol), went up a few stairs and finally got to the room where HCM's body is.
