This was the first time I've ever celebrated Buddha's birthday. It was also the first time I was aware of such a holiday. It's really big here. About two weeks beforehand, the entire city hung colorful lanterns all along the river.
The day of, I saw from my classroom, things being set up at the riverfront. Luckily for me, Min Sol and I had dinner plans that day and she accompanied me to watch the ceremony/celebration.

There was a good number of different samul nori groups.
I prayed for a wish and added my rock to the giant rock pile.
After the ceremony, most of which I didn't pay much attention to since I couldn't understand the majority of it. There was to be a parade of floats starting where we were and would eventually weave its way to the downtown area. We decided to follow along.

I also saw the biggest dog in Korea. Or at least it was the biggest dog I've seen thus far... I want one.
