my school keeps surprising me! today i had 3 classes in the morning one right after the other. it was my first time teaching with mr kyu. he has really good english pronunciation.

entered the class and the class leader called the class to attention and bowed us hello. class started.  class was going according to plan when some seniors (sunbaes) came in and asked us if they can announce somethig. of course we said yes. im guessing they were trying to recruit members for their club, not too sure though. then they left and class went back to normal. then BAM! door flies open (not literally but sorta) and in comes in the student body president. how do i know that he is the student president? bc i remember he was the one standing front row center at the welcome ceremonies and he is also at the front gate with the school monitors welcoming the teachers every day. so in comes student prez and asks me something in korean. i look at him and then i look at mr kyu to which mr kyu translates for me. awww student prez asked me and not mr kyu. lol he knows what class this was! haha then i reply back with a yes of course and a nod to my head. right then he turned to the door and in comes his underlings (which i can only assume are his student body members). there was at least 10 of them (sunbaes) and from my point of view they were examining them from head to toe, length of hair, their backpacks, cubbies and clothes. to which i make it that this was a random check for any inappropriate things the students may have. i look at mr kyu and he also looks surprised. we both have one of those moments when we both knew what each was is thinking. lol half the students were taken out to the hallway to which i do not know what happened to them. they were in the hallway no longer than 5 mins and the rest of the students went back to work. the rest of the students came back in, the sunbaes said thank you, left and class went back to normal for 5mins and then the bell rang (our bells play music) for class to be dismissed. class leader called the class to attention and bowed us goodbye.  

headed to the teachers lounge and talked about what just happened! that random check threw us off guard. mr kyu asked one of the 2nd year students about it and he said that the student prez does random checks for things that students may have with them (cigarettes mostly) that are inappropriate for students to have at school. the student prez gets special permission for these things and doesnt have to tell the teachers when its going to happen. wow, talk about power! but at the same time its also nice to know that there are those students who are trying to lead by example. gosh! everyone here is so proper! 

2nd class went the same way as the 1st class including the same sunbaes coming in to recruit for thier club. and then when i thought it couldnt happen again, BAM! student prez and his underlings again. lol

3rd class went the same way minus the sunbaes and the student prez. lol 

its funny bc this is the 1st time any of the freshmen classes have me in class and they are prettttty shy. its fun to walk around the class bc they get all shifty. its even more fun to call on them bc they look like deers looking at headlights. LOL! i esp like it when the class leader calls the class to attention and bows welcome and goodbye. its super cute. 

lunch: i made eye contact with my office leader and pointed to the seat next to me. i wanted to thank him again for having lunch with me and his family on sat. turns out he was eating lunch with mr lee (also from our office, very quiet, studious and awkwardly cute. he totally has those korean glasses but he actually uses them. lol! dresses very niiiiice and is SUPER proper). so out of all the 7 people in our office, mr lee is the one that i least talk to. i dont really know how well his english understanding is... so i mustered the courage to start a conversation with him. i called him lee song saeng nim and he immediately looked up! so adorable! like a little kid. lol! he also turned a little pink. haha we exchanged a few words and found out that he has 30 classes! and teaches ethics. no wonder there are so many students visiting him throughout the day and that explains why he is always so studious. im sooooo glad i started talking to me, now it wont be just hello and goodbye. lol i also met 2 of my teacher students. theyre super cute (both girls :]). they both want to improve their english conversation skills and are really excited for the 1st teacher english class. 

went to do my 1-1 with mrs park which lasted for 5mins bc she was busy and we would officially start next week. so i went back to my office to do some work. 

1st teacher english class (group A): went SUPER well! i was sooo nervous. i didnt want to offend anyone or anything esp since they were teachers. basically did the same intro as my freshmen classes with a few differences. i have 8 teachers in this class but 2 were on business trips. they chose a class leader which was mrs kim (from my office) and they were so chill! the 2 girls i met at lunch are around my age and one is the same age as me! yay! we are the youngest in the school. they all gave me their cell numbers so i can call them with anything. class actually went over time bc we were having so much fun! then they asked me if i cooked to which i told them that i didnt have much in apt still. then in korean (which i can imagine them picturing a starving little girl with an empty box apt) they planned to go to dinner. we ended up at this ship shaped restaurant with live seafood ready to be plucked from the waters and prepared. this restaurant was right next to my school. never noticed it bc it was behind my school. had sooo much food and 4 bottles of soju later, they told me that every wed after class, we would all go out and eat dinner together! <3 they taught me some korean and i taught them the word :tipsy. hahahahahaha it was pretty awesome. then they took me to a noreabang and there we had some beer. of course i sang the english songs and some attempted to sing some in english also. ohh man! this day went so good! they kept telling me that they really wanted to become friends with me but didnt know how to approach me and i told them that i wanted to be friends too but didnt know how to approach them. lol! now we are all friends and we already have these inside jokes that im supposed to say when i come in to the office tomorrow. 2 of my teacher students today are in the same office as me. lol! i hope fridays teacher group goes this well also. i feel less nervous teaching teachers now (^_^)
