I didn't realize that Thailand had a different Buddha for each day. Technically the same Buddha. These photos are from Wat Chiang Man.
I thought this was pretty interesting. After visiting Wat Phan Tao I decided to look up the day I and my sisters were born and read up on them. Take a look and see if your Buddha day matches the person you are. My little sister and I were born on the same day. My older sister and her first born were born on the same day as well. That's interesting.

The belief is that Buddha spend 7 days after his enlightenment thinking about the suffering of all living creatures and how unimportant his life was prior to reaching enlightenment.

There are over 100 different poses aside from the meditating Buddha. In Thailand people pay attention to the Buddha image of the day they were born and their assigned color of the day. Though there are 7 days of the week, there are 8 Buddha images.

SUNDAY (my older sister and my nephew Landon): Phra Tawai Natra (Restraint)
This Buddha has an open-eye posture where the Buddha stands with hands crossed over his stomach. The Buddha contemplates his achievements and knowledge, standing still for 7 days under the Bodhi Tree.

There are two images that represent Wednesday, divided into day and night according to Thai astrology.

Wednesday Morning: The Morning is for Receiving. The Buddha is holding an alms bowl, with both hands wrapped around it. The Buddha visited his family after four years in the monastery. His father was not content when he saw the Buddha “begged” for food holding an alms bowl. Buddha explained to his father that performing pindabat, or holding an alms bow are the lineage of Buddha. Thus, the disciples can devote their food.
