With my not-so-happy experience on my first sleeping bus, I was hesitant to get on another one.
This time it would be with Karen and we would be heading from Luang Prabang to Vientiane. The people at the hostel informed us that there were 2 kinds of buses, sleeping bus and seating bus, and that I probably got the seating bus last time. I swear I got the sleeping bus last time.
We booked our tix and waited for the day to come.
This sleeping bus was by far SO MUCH better than the last one. This one had 3 rows of “beds” that were basically the same ones as the other bus I was in. BUUUT they had more room and you could stick your legs out to the aisle if you wanted.
Maybe because I was still sick but I only woke up ONCE during the entire trip! I woke up when people were eating their fried rice dinners. There were also 2 drivers and I guess they switched off sometime during the night because we arrived at our destination at the time we were supposed to. What a great relief! I guess there was no reason to stop for bathroom breaks since there was a toilet on the bus. I didn’t know this since I basically knocked out. Karen said she got up to use it during the night. She also laughed at me when I was moaning in my sleep. Yes I moan in my sleep BUT ONLY when I’m sick so really she was laughing at me for being sick. Haha
Pro: basically everything!
Con: I wish the ride lasted longer…
